Our Incoming President-Elect

The President-Elect aligns with our members, pain partners, and organizational leadership to advance strategic priorities and ensure continuity of leadership. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong record of service, collaborative leadership skills, and a clear vision for the future of the organization. The term for this role is June 1st, 2026 to May 31, 2028
✶ The President-Elect serves a term of two (2) years.
✶ After the two (2) years, the President-Elect automatically assumes the role of CPS President. The term of the President is two (2) years.
✶ Immediately after that term, the President automatically assumes the role of Past-President for an additional two (2) years.
Trainee Representative

The Trainee Representative serves as an advocate for trainees, ensuring their perspectives are reflected in organizational discussions and decisions. This role is well-suited for individuals who are engaged, communicative, and committed to strengthening the trainee experience. The term for this role is June 1st, 2026 to May 31, 2028
✶ Trainee Spotlight quarterly update in Canadian Pain Society newsletter.
✶ Support the Trainee workshop at our annual meetings.
✶ Assist in reviewing trainee related award submissions in partnership with the Awards Committee Chair.
✶ Assist as a trainee member of the Scientific Programming and Communications Committees.
✶ Participate at Canadian Pain Society Leadership meetings.
✶ Improve access and opportunities for Canadian Pain Society Trainees.

Nominations are accepted until February 1st, 2026.
We invite all Canadian Pain Society members to nominate qualified and committed individuals for roles within our organization. These positions play an important role in representing member interests, shaping priorities, and supporting our vision and mission.

Nomination Criteria
✶ The nominee and nominator must have been a member of the Society for not less than one (1) year.
✶ The nominator must complete the nomination form on this page.
✶ All nominations must be accompanied by the nominee's CV, statement of interest (300 words max), and short bio statement (250 words max) in one PDF file.
✶ Please also include a high-resolution headshot, which will be used for the online voting process.
The Nomination Committee will also consider other factors for suitability such as previous experience on Canadian Pain Society committees or other societies, relevant experience in financial matters (e.g., Treasurer in other organizations, budget management of a lab, etc.), and representation on the Board from across the country and disciplines.
