Nominate the next Canadian Pain Society President-Elect

Nominate before the end of the day on March 29, 2024.
The President-Elect will serve their term from June 1st, 2024 – May 31, 2026.  
In addition to being a member of the CPS Board of Directors, the President-Elect assists the CPS President in requested tasks, carrying out the responsibilities of the President when absent.
✶  The President-Elect serves a term of two (2) years.
✶  After the two (2) years, the President-Elect automatically assumes the role of CPS President. The term of the President is two (2) years.
✶  Immediately after that term, the President automatically assumes the role of Past-President for an additional two (2) years.

Nomination Criteria

All nomination packages will be vetted by the CPS Nomination Committee to ensure eligibility.
✶  The nominee and nominator must have been a Regular Member of the Society for not less than one (1) year.
✶  Submission of a complete nomination form.
✶  All nominations must be accompanied by the nominee's CV, statement of interest (300 words max), and short bio statement (250 words max) in one PDF file
✶  Please also include a high-resolution headshot, which will be used for the online voting process.
The Nomination Committee will also consider other factors for suitability such as previous experience on CPS committees or other societies, relevant experience in financial matters (e.g., Treasurer in other organizations, budget management of a lab, etc.), and representation on the Board from across the country and disciplines.

Voting through the CPS Membership portal will occur between April 4-14th.  Email notifications with links to access the voting platform are forthcoming.   If you have any questions in the interim, please contact us.

Our Candidates for Secretary

The following individuals have been nominated for the vacant Secretary position, previously held by Dr. Allen Finley, for a three year term from July 1st - May 31st, 2026.  As a CPS Member, you are eligible to cast your vote and select your preferred candidate from June 9 through June 23, 2023 at midnight EDT.

Internationally renowned researcher, leading pain neuroimaging in Canada, and collaborating with leading international researchers to determine predictors and individual characteristics of chronic pain to develop targeted treatment strategies.
