AAPM members consist of distinguished physicians, researchers, nurse practitioners, psychologists, physical therapists, and other allied health professionals with a sustained interest in pain disorders and pain management from a variety of disciplines and work settings. The specialty of Pain Medicine is concerned with the study of pain, the prevention of pain, and the evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of persons in pain. Pain clinicians are competent to treat the entire range of pain encountered in the delivery of quality health care.
