ELIZABETH VANDENKERKHOF (Newsletter Editor)

Elizabeth VanDenKerkhof has served as CPS newsletter editor since 2008. She is a Professor in the School of Nursing and the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at Queen’s University, as well as an Ontario Women’s Health Council / Canadian Institute of Health Research Institute of Gender and Health Mid-Career Scientist. Her research focuses on understanding complex chronic conditions from a patient-oriented perspective, with a particular emphasis on chronic pain. Her studies are conducted at the patient and the population level utilizing a gender-based approach. She is leading an international initiative to create an electronic data repository which would combine international data on studies related to chronic postsurgical pain with colleagues from the United Kingdom and The Netherlands.
