Jennifer Stinson successfully defended her PhD thesis on September 13th titled:
"Development and evaluation of a multidimensional electronic pain diary for adolescents with arthritis". Her committee members were Bonnie Stevens (Supervisor), Patrick McGrath, David Streiner, Souraya Sidani and Brian Feldman.

I hope you will all join me in congratulating Jennifer on this great accomplishment.
Bonnie Stevens

Kudos to Dr. Bonnie Stevens
In recognition of the longstanding APS interest in promoting improved pain management in pediatric health care settings, the Jeffrey Lawson Award recognizes advocacy efforts to improve pain management in children. This year's recipient is Bonnie J. Stevens, PhD RN, chair, pediatric nursing research, Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto. Stevens is most widely known for her groundbreaking research on pain in preterm infants. She developed the Premature Infant Pain Profile (PIPP), which is considered the most reliable and valid pain measure in infants. Over the past decade, Dr. Stevens has developed a nationally funded research program on pain in infants and children.

Kudos to Dr. Patrick McGrath
Dr. Patrick McGrath will be the recipient of the 2006 Donald O. Hebb Award for Distinguished Contributions to Psychology as a Science. The clinical section of the Canadian Psychological Association nominated Dr. McGrath for this prestigious award and he has been selected for his honour. Dr. McGrath will be honoured at the Convention in Calgary
