About Us

Meet the Board of Directors

DIANE LACHAPELLE (Secretary)

Dr. LaChapelle obtained her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Regina in 2003. She is currently an associate professor of psychology at the University of New Brunswick and also offers clinical services through her private practice. Both her clinical and research work focus on assessment and treatment issues related to chronic pain and disability.

Her research is currently funded by the Canadian Institutes for Health Research and the Harrison McCain Foundation and has been facilitated by partnerships with the New Brunswick Arthritis Society and the Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation. Her research has focused on the process of pain acceptance, stereotypes about patients with pain, and on identifying factors that help promote adjustment to chronic pain and disability. She also is examining the interface between self-management of chronic disease and primary care. She has served as the editor of the CPS Newsletter and is currently the CPS Secretary.
