Wednesday May 28, 2008 Welcome Reception Royal BC Museum – “A Taste of History “Reception SPONSORED BY CPM CENTRES FOR PAIN MANAGEMENT Wednesday evening, May 28, 2008 “A Taste of History” Reception will be held at the Royal BC Museum – Steps from the Fairmont Empress Hotel. Stroll back through time more than 200 years, to when European explorers began the fur trade with coastal First Nations. The sights, sounds and smells of the past can be so vivid that you might - just for a moment - think you're really there. Enjoy food from around the world, re-connect with fellow members and meet new ones! Through unique galleries, the Museum showcases the human and natural history of British Columbia and temporary exhibits from other countries and cultures. Authentic artifacts and specimens are displayed in highly realistic settings, giving visitors the experience of another time and place. |

CHANGING PAIN CARE – THE BRITISH COLUMBIA STRATEGY Speakers Michael Negraeff, and Lynne Young, with Chair Janice Muir will share with the participants the process of developing a coordinated Provincial pain care strategy across the continuum of care from birth to end-of-life including community engagement, provider engagement, model development including pain hotline and navigation center, provincial website development, chronic pain registry, optimal pain care in residential and acute care facilities, advocacy, as well as the development of a pain care education strategy framework. This event is open and complimentary to the public and is included in the Conference Delegate Fee. Plan to attend and spread the word to groups / people in the Victoria area that would like to attend. |
